Chegg Services

Easybib.com/Citationmachine.net – Both of these services are owned by Chegg, an education technology company. These sites can help you build your reference page, but you should always double check the citations they create. Chegg also offers a grammar/plagiarism checker; however, the writing center does not currently recommend using this service, as the advice given can be confusing, open to interpretation, or simply incorrect

Tips & Tricks

Tips & Tricks

  • Database Citations – Often, when you use a source from a scholarly database, you can find pre-made citations somewhere on the article/e-book’s page. These can be helpful, but make sure to double check them for accuracy.
  • Grammarly is a product that offers free grammar and plagiarism advice, available as a MS Word function, browser add-on, and app. Although this can be a useful tool, it is not a quick fix. Always be sure to consider the rhetorical situation of your writing.
