How Do I Create An Appointment?

1. If you have an account/profile, go to https://hindscc.mywconline.com/ (or, if accessing services on the Utica campus, https://hindscc.mywconline.net/) and log in with your Hinds email address and the password (If logging in at the Utica account, use the e-mail and password you used to set up that account--scroll to the bottom of this screen to find out more about that). After you log in, choose a schedule/location. If you want an on-site, in-person appointment, pay attention to the location. For online and written feedback appointments, you can use any campus. Don't stress about the choice too much in those cases because you can switch among the schedules after you have logged in if you are looking for an online or written feedback appointment at a particular time but are unconcerned about the location.

2. Once you're in, think about whether you want a on-site (in-person) session, an online session, or a written feedback session. Different tutors offer different types of sessions based on their experience and schedules. You can tell which tutor offers which services by running your cursor over their names, as seen in the picture below:

3. Now, look for the white blocks to the right of the tutors' names. Each bright white block represents an available 30-minute appointment. Click on the bright white block at the time you need, make your choices about the kind of appointment and whether it will be 30 minutes or an hour, answer the other questions, and, if requesting a written feedback, attach your paper. Microsoft Word's .doc and .docx are preferred formats because a tutor can use the "insert comments" function, but a .PDF is acceptable as a last resort. For written feedback appointments, it also helps if you send the assignment directions.

4. If no one is offering the services you need at the time and campus you have selected, perhaps you can opt for an online appointment or written feedback appointment on another campus.  See the picture below for how to switch among campuses. Also, don't forget Utica! It has a separate account, but Ms. DeShanna Dixon at Utica offers on-site and online (but not written feedback) services. Any questions? Call the Writing Center at 601-857-3356. If you call after 4:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday or after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, leave a message with your name, telephone number, and question, and the Writing Center director will return the call during the center's business hours. Thank you for using our services!
