Finding Books at HCC Libraries

Library Search Box - Catalog Search

Use this search box to search the physical holdings of the library (books, DVDs, etc).

Searching the catalog

These PDFs offer a basic guide to finding physical books in the HCC libraries. Guides to specific e-book collections at HCC libraries can be found by clicking on the Ebooks tab of this LibGuide.

Your student ID card acts as your HCC library card. You may checkout and return books at any of the HCC campus libraries.

Mississippi Library Partnership

The HCC Libraries have entered into a partnership - The Mississippi Library Partnership (MLP) - that increases the number of books to which you have access. The MLP provides Hinds students, faculty, and staff access to materials from 60 libraries across the state. Eligible items from member libraries can be placed on hold and sent to your home library at no cost to you. When you borrow from a partnership library, circulation periods and fines may be different from those of HCC Libraries. To see which libraries participate, go to the MLP's homepage

Renew Books Online - it's easy!

View this PDF to get step by step screenshots on how to renew books online.

You are welcome to renew books by calling your campus library and providing your student ID number or by showing your ID card at the library and requesting a renewal. Be sure and do this before your books become overdue. Avoid those pesky overdue fines. Our fine rates are 5 cents per day per book.

You will receive a notice in your college email account to warn you that your books are due and it's time to renew or return them.
